School Uniform
The school colours are navy blue and white. Our school uniform colour is a combination of navy blue and white. Most items can be bought from High Street shops. Items marked with a * below, some of which have the school logo on, are sold from “Rock-It Promotions” our branded uniform supplier. Please speak to our office staff for details of prices or follow this link www.rock-itpromotions.co.uk There is a Rock-it Promotions shop in East Grove, Rectory Road, Rushden, NN10 0AP.
Parents whose children receive pupil premium can use their school voucher to purchase school uniform from Rock-it promotions. Please speak to the school office staff or email confidentially on hfnisoffice@lflet.org.uk if you think your child is entitled to this.
The uniform consists of:
- Grey skirt/pinafore dress/shorts/trousers or a blue and white checked or striped dresses for summer wear (all can be purchased from high street supermarkets)
- White blouse, shirt or white polo shirt (can be purchased from high street supermarkets)
- Navy blue sweatshirt* or cardigan*, without a hood, either plain or with the HFNIS logo (Navy blue non logo cardigans and sweatshirts can be purchased from some high street stores)
- Plain white/grey socks (can be purchased from high street supermarkets)
- Blue or grey tights can be purchased from high street supermarkets)
- Grey shorts or trousers not jogging bottoms (unless nursery or specially recommended for a specific need.) Can be purchased from high street supermarkets.
- Black shoes - can be purchased from high street stores.
Shoes should be flat, black and appropriate for school. If trainers are worn, these should be plain black without logos. Your child should wear shoes which he or she can manage to do up independently Please do not send your child to school in shoes which prevent them from running in the playground. If boots are worn in winter, these also should be plain black.
PE Kit
P.E. Uniform
Children come into school dressed in their PE kit and trainers on their allocated PE days.
PE uniform required:
- Navy shorts
- Navy jogging bottoms/leggings for cold weather
- Navy zipped, hooded jacket* in cold weather
- HFNIS T-shirt* or non-logo T-shirt in their relevant house colour
- A pair of plimsolls – with velcro fastenings or trainers
Non-logo items can also be purchased from high street supermarkets.
For health and safety reasons children are not permitted to wear earrings for PE. Your child’s teacher will advise you when PE lessons take place so that earrings can be removed.
Please name all articles of clothing, as a great deal of time can be wasted looking for owners of items that are not named. Lost property is displayed regularly for families to check and claim. If items are not claimed after a term, they are put into the second-hand clothes bank run by our PTA or recycled.
Pre Loved Uniform
The Friends of our school have a stock of pre-loved uniform available to purchase. Email your requests to HFNISfriends@lflet.org.uk or complete a pre-loved uniform request form and return it to the school office. Click here to download the request form.
Jewellery & Personal Belongings
Jewellery is not to be worn in school. The accidental pulling and catching of earrings, watches and necklaces during play can cause severe damage to fingers and ear lobes! If your child has pierced ears we do allow studs but no other types of earring are allowed e.g. hoops (studs must be removed for PE). The local education authority endorses this policy. If your child inadvertently comes to school wearing a piece of jewellery, including watches, they will be asked to remove them and they will be returned to you at the end of the day. Please note the school cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of items of jewellery and watches or other personal belongings.
Book bags
Please check book bags daily for information. Children frequently take books home and they are also used to transport letters to and from school. Book bags can be purchased from the school office for £5.00.
